The summit of this trail is sitting at over 3,500 feet and has access way from several different roads. It's a fantastic way to spend an afternoon in the fall
To access Mary's Rock, you can use two routes:
1. Starting from Panorama it's 3.7 mi round trip and the hike is moderately difficult
2. From Meadow Springs it's 2.8 mi round trip and it's moderately difficult as well.
No matter which way you decide to go, the views are fantastic, the only difference is if you're starting from Panorama, your climb is more or less steady.

Ready For Your Taste Buds To Go Nuts?
Welcome to The Route 58 Delicatessen located right off of Virginia Beach Blvd. I personally got to taste The Super Reuben and it's as good as everyone says it is!
This restaurant might be one of the busiest I've ever seen! There's generally 10 or so people waiting right outside the door no matter if it's Winter or Summer.
The staff are extremely nice and knowledgeable of the menu items. One, and possibly the only thing that isn't listed on the menu is calorie count for each dish, which is self explanatory! Every sandwhich on the menu is a masterpiece and it sure looks like one.
Aside from the looks... The taste is truly extraordinary. All meats are fresh and all breads are crisp.
Had a chance to look up the reviews for Route 58 Delicatessen and there's not a single mention of low quality of food.
Route 58 is open Monday thru Sunday from 10:30AM to 8PM and they also offer orders at GrubHub and Seamless.
If you're looking to try something different, go ahead and visit Jeff Goldberg at The Route 58 Delicatessen Today!

This spot is the most photographed one of all, on the Appalachian Trail as it snakes it's way though Virginia.
The McAfee Knob has a close to 270 degree panoramic view of the North Mountain over to the West, Tinker Cliffs looking North, Roanoke Valley over in the Easter direction and last but not least, the Catawba Valley.
A fairly easy gain of almost 1700 fee in just under 4.4 miles till the Knob starting from the nearest parking lot.
When the day is clear, you'll have hands down, the best views available in the Southern Shenandoah Valley.
Because of how extremely popular it is, there's no way that you'll get to enjoy it on your own, so prepare to make friends with other hikers.
Definitely worth a trip out to the Shenandoah, and be sure to let us know how it went either in comment or here.
Enjoy Virginia Opera artists in your tank tops and sandals as they sing favorite arias and classical Broadway melodies under the stars.

It's Seafood Time!
Not many people come to Hampton Roads on vacation without wanting to make a trip to a Seafood House, to take in the tastes of the Ocean! With so many choices it can be hard to decide which location is the best one to visit.
A personal favorite and a “local hotspot” is “Margie and Ray’s Seafood House” in Sandbridge, VA. Although, technically a part of Virginia Beach, it sits far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the Oceanfront life that unless you know where it is or ever heard of it, this fantastic restaurant goes on unknown.
But once you learn about this place, it will forever be a spot you will want to revisit and tell your friends about, year after year.
Locally owned and operated, Margie and Ray’s Seafood House has been a hometown favorite for many years. It once started out as a convenience store and tackle shop, back in the 60s. In the late 90’s the store was turned over to the Owners’ son, who then turned it into a Restaurant, in his parents’ names.
You will not only be able to get great seafood platters that are titled with names like “The Tidal Wave” or even the “Super Tidal Wave,” but they also serve salads, Carolina BBQ, pasta dishes, chicken and steak dishes, as well. For the She-Crab soup fans of the world, Margie and Ray’s has one to truly marvel over.
What would a family restaurant be like without the ability to serve up a Home-cooked breakfast? Margie and Rays serves breakfast daily from 7am-11am during the week and 7am-1pm on weekends.
Sunday Breakfast is always busy in the summer, as you will find it is the first restaurant tourists will come to heading into the Sandbridge Rentals, and it is also the last place out.
Hola! ¿Como Esta?
Who doesn’t enjoy a little Mexican fare every now and again?
Having visited many restaurants in the area with menus dedicated to this very type of food, this particular restaurant makes me feel like I am at home, rather than just stopping in a random restaurant for a meal.
From the outside, Los Primos may look like a random shop in a Strip Mall, but once you step through the doors, the smell of fajitas permeates the air, making you feel hungry almost instantly.
Warm smiles greet you at the door and someone ushers you to a cozy booth that are comfortable, spacious and welcoming.
As soon as you are seated by the greeter, a server is often right behind them, ready to serve you with hot chips and fresh dipping sauces.
There is an additional server who makes his rounds and offers to make you fresh guacamole, which he makes tableside, for tips.
As a usual customer, the servers remember your face and offer their pleasantries and welcome you back. They seem to ‘just know’ what you want to order, but offer you to option to change your mind, in the off chance you want something different from their extensive menu. The service is always friendly, respectful and timely.
Drinks are constantly replenished, often without you needing to flag someone down to ask, and they seem to genuinely care that you are happy with your menu selections. It is nothing new to be in and out within an hour – feeling full, not rushed out the door, and happy with your experience.
I have never been disappointed with a Friday evening visit to Los Primos. If you ever find yourself in the Mount Pleasant area of Chesapeake, Va., give them a try. You will be glad that you stopped by!

Is that fresh baked bread that I smell?
There’s nothing quite like homemade… the freshest ingredients, the personal touch and the taste is remarkable!
That is what you get when you visit The Baker’s Crust, located in the Hilltop North Shopping Center in Virginia Beach, VA! Locally owned and operated, The Baker’s Crust has been a ‘local hotspot’ with a menu that has continued to suit every taste since the day it opened its doors.
After recently undergoing a remodeling facelift, the restaurant continues to be a relaxing environment to enjoy a glass of wine with friends over a nice lunch, or sit at the bar and take in a game with friends.
The restaurant is one you can feel comfortable going to after an afternoon out shopping, or to even spend a little time together on a dinner date. It is also family-friendly, so it makes the restaurant a win-win for everyone.
On display in the main dining area, just to the left of the bar, is a brick oven where they make all their breads and baked goods. The smell of fresh baked bread fills the restaurant, adding to the already inviting ambiance.
Their soups and sandwiches are widely what they are known for, but they also make pizza! All their breads are baked fresh daily and it’s what makes the taste of their entrees truly unique. If you cannot decide what you want, you can always choose a ½ and ½, which is a half a cup of soup and a half of any variety of sandwiches they have available.
For dinner, the menu changes up a little and you can make heartier choices in dinner plates, ranging from sandwiches to pastas and everything in between.
The restaurant has often been a participant in “Restaurant Week,” where you can get a taste of the wide variety of selections they offer. On your way out, what would be a better way to end your tasty meal than with a fresh baked cookie the size of a teacup plate?
They have a variety of baked goods and desserts that you can enjoy while you are there or take home with you to enjoy later.

Meet me at the Corner Restaurant!
If you are an avid Norfolk Admirals Hockey Fan or spend any amount of time in the Downtown Area of Norfolk, then you are probably familiar with Baxter’s Restaurant.
The restaurant sits on a corner about 2 city-blocks away from The Norfolk Scope, and is often a gathering spot for all the fans before big games during the regular Hockey Season.
When you walk up to the restaurant, you will see places for outdoor seating, along the sidewalk. In the warmer months, it is no surprise to see folks hanging around outdoors, enjoying a meal with friends, or sharing stories after a long week over a drink.
Inside, there are TVs along every stretch of wall space, and even a few hanging ones in the center sections of the seating area.
The wait staff is friendly, quick and welcoming. Usually a hostess will seat you when you walk in, during busy times.
It’s typical before a Hockey game to find the restaurant in a standing room only capacity, or with many tables pushed together for large groups who are saving seats for late-coming friends. Most of the time, there are specials available for you to choose from, as well as the ability to select from a wide variety of items on their menu.
With a full bar, you can also choose from a myriad of beers on tap or order you favorite mixed drink.
During Football Season, Baxter’s Restaurant can become entertaining, as the sounds of cheering fans carries throughout the restaurant, allowing you to know when there are happy fans nearby!
With so many TVs, it’s a great place to hang out with a group of friends and take in a game in a fun and entertaining environment. Parking along the streets can be a little difficult to get, but there are parking decks nearby which charge reasonable rates.
While dreams of Sugar Plums danced in their heads...
There isn’t much that is more intoxicating than walking into a bakery and smelling the sweet breads, the cakes, and the cookies fill the air.
Sugar Plum Bakery in Virginia Beach is a hometown favorite that has been around since 1985.
It is a non-profit organization that centers its focus on educating and helping folks with disabilities acquire skills that will be valuable to them, enabling them to be productive members of our society.
Sugar Plum Bakery sits conveniently near Laskin Road and is one of the most recognizable buildings along that stretch of road. The bright “plum” color of the building makes it difficult to pass by. When you walk into the bakery, you are greeted by smiling faces and outstanding customer service. Everyone is very happy that you are there and are appreciative of the fact that you stopped by. The glass cases are lined with a variety of baked goods. If you can dream it up, it can be made.
One of their most popular items is the Mozart cake (a personal favorite). This cake is just about as decadent as it gets. You start with a double layer white cake, with a buttercream frosting between them. On top of the buttercream frosting in the center is a raspberry sauce that is spread atop, which basically separates the two layers of cake.
The outer layer is a hardened chocolate frosting that covers the top and sides of the cake. Finally, the cake is decorated with buttercream roses in any choice of color, along with a message. It is always encouraged when you are planning to purchase a cake that you pre-order it. It is not always necessary, but during busy seasons, it is a good idea.
If you are a Macaroon fan, they also have a selection of the largest Macaroons I have ever seen in my life. So, the next time you are in the market for a cake, or just have a sweet tooth, stop by Sugar Plum Bakery. You are sure to find something there to make you smile.
